They recently discovered that, contrary to myths about the rarity of Shield Maidens, most Viking raiding hordes were actually half women, probably married couples finding somewhere to settle. Pretty cool right? I think a great way to celebrate the horned-helmed warriors of old is for all you ladies to raid your local Halloween parties dressed in their traditional garb! This is my top five favorite Viking costumes for women
