To help you out, below is a truly epic makeup tutorial that will teach you how to get that ridge-tattoo look that the character has. The Force has awakened once more after years of pressing the snooze button, and that means it's time for a new Star Wars costume post! You can get a whole load of the new characters in women's costume or unisex version, starting with the mysterious and powerful protagonist herself, Rey, featured above. Each of these costumes comes with the top, pants, detached sleeves and leather-look cuff, and belt with pouch. Her desert staff weapon is available here, and a more three dimensional version of her matching side bag as well as her desert veil from the beginning of the movie are also available.

This one is a very cute option for kids who fell in love with R2D2's successor, the adorable BB-8. As well as looking super cool, the costume above on the left is very easy to set up: it has a little fan inside which keeps it inflated. If that's not your style, you can get a non-inflatable version of the costume here. There's sadly no exact equivalent for adults, but you can get a super cute BB-8 skater dress like the one above, which comes with the dress and the matching headpiece.

There sadly isn't a dedicated Finn costume for women yet, but the kids of both genders should have no trouble with the cute Finn costume featured above. Adults can try out the men's costume: its a bit broad shouldered but it can be made to work! Be careful in choosing your size: air on the small side.

Finally, let's get on to some villains. First of all, Phasma! Because after Game of Thrones Gwendoline Christie seems to have been type-cast as a boss-armor wearing sort, and that is awesome. The costume above comes with the armor and matching belt, a two piece helmet and the cap. The matching stormtrooper blaster you see in the picture is available here.

Finally, to indulge the emo-uh-I mean dark sider within us all, on the left we have Kylo Ren! Each of these creepy costume sets includes the dark robe, a hooded cape, the belt, and the iconic mask. You can get his awesome three bladed lightsaber here, and some (presumably lightsaber-proof) Kylo Ren gloves to hold it with here.

The Scarlet Witch has finally ascended to be one of the new Avengers as of Captain America: Civil War, and that means its time for a Scarlet Witch Halloween costume post!

How you go about putting together this costume really depends on your budget. If money is no limit, I definitely recommend going for a custom made Scarlet Witch cosplay outfit like the one above, which comes with the top, pants and fingerless gloves.

If you are on a budget, however, you can make an amazing Scarlet Witch costume out of a short black skater dress like the one on the left and combining it with a burgundy leather jacket like the one on the right. Then, all you need are some knee high leather boots and a long brown wig like the one featured below to finish off the look. Perfect!

Suicide Squad is many things, and the main thing is stylish. Harley Quinn was already the comic book world's sweetheart, but now she has a new outfit and is joined by another bad ass woman with an improbably effective weapon, the brooding Katana! If you fancy cosplaying as members of the suicide squad this Halloween, I highly recommend the costumes above. You can get the matching wig for the Harley costume here, while the Katana wig is available here. Don't forget to pick up their weapons too, a baseball bat for Harley and a...katana...for...Katana.

That's not the only Harley Quinn costume from the movie, however, you can also get the orange jumpsuit that Harley wears while detained in the maximum security prison, featured above. They made a Deadpool costume for women! This was a surprise to me, as normally the ladies have to wait years to get a fitting version of superhero costumes, if it ever comes out at all. It looks pretty awesome too! Each set of the above costume comes with the bodysuit and detachable mask. This costume would work really well paired with these dragon ninja katana swords and these Deadpool boot covers. Don't bother bringing guns, you'll just end up leaving them in the car.

If you want a mask which hides your eyes, I would pick up the mask on the right separately. If you want a less shiny bodysuit, then I recommend you check out this unisex version, which has the advantage of a slightly more accurate mask.

How to Dress up as Mother Gothel (Disney's Tangled)

Here's a real tragedy to all the Tangled fans out there: finding a good Mother Gothel costume to wear for Halloween, a convention or a costume party is seriously hard. Well, fear not! This post is going to be looking at the bits and bobs you'll need to put together the costume from scratch - it's pretty easy and the end result will look amazing! 

Red Gown Costume

First of all, you will need Mother Gothel's iconic red dress. I recommend you pick up the Renaissance red gown on the red to act as a substitute; it's perfect color-wise and pretty close in terms of pattern and decor. Here's a similar dress without the yellow adornments on the shoulder and more bohemian sleeves. One you have the dress, you just need to add a thick, velvet black cloak with a hood on top of it: you can find a perfect one right here!

Shopping for a good Gothel costume for kids is a little harder as there are fewer dresses that really work, but the one on the left, or this dress here or this ball gown, combined with a suitable velvet cloak like this one will look pretty good.

Once the costume is ready, it is time to finish off the look with some accessories and finishing touches. At the top of this post you can find a beautiful Mother Gothel wig that will save you a lot of time with a curling iron (not mention a lot of hair damage!), and here you can find a wonderful tutorial on how to do your makeup like Mother Gothel. Lastly, here's a set of replica flowers that look similar to the healing flower from the movie.

First of all, Batman and Robin might have been a terrible movie, but Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy costume in it was pretty sweet looking. California costumes has made a gorgeous replica of the costume, which I have featured above. Each set comes with the beautiful ivy green dress, a cute face mask, a pair of glovelettes, the boot covers, the unique looking ivy print leggings, and a detachable train. That's pretty much everything you could need!

If you want a Poison Ivy costume in a bit of different style, I particularly like the Secret Wishes costume featured on the right. It's really beautiful! Each set of the costume comes with the amazing ivy boa, the frilly costume dress, and the matching pointy glovelettes. You can get the matching tights to go with it here.

Finally, it's time to do your makeup and your hair. Below I've featured a really cool and easy to follow tutorial for doing Poison Ivy themed makeup that will match your costume really well. 

As for the hair, if you already have long red hair, then you are already set, but if not, don't worry! You can pick up a beautiful red haired wig right here. Why not add a little bit of this fake poison ivy garland to your hair in order to add a unique touch?

Here's a cool group costume ideas for you and your friends to try out: Disney Villainesses. First of all, we have the evil sorceress Maleficent, the witch who cursed baby Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and will be the star of the upcoming movie, Maleficent. Next up is Disney's very first villainess, the nameless evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. She's vain, devious, and willing to do whatever it takes to be the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. The costume above is my favorite Queen costume, a slinky and sexy dress with high collar and matching crown. With this costume, you are sure to be the fairest in all the land. Or else.

Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

Ursula, the big bad of The Little Mermaid has my favorite villain song (Poor Unfortunate Souls, check it out!) and is one of the more unique Disney Villains, what with being an octopus and all. The costume above is what inspired me to create this post, because its really awesome - a dress with 3D tentacles emerging from the skirt. Its really eye-catching, and I love it to bits. Big dog lover? I bet you loved Disney's 101 Dalmatians. Cruella de Vil is one scary lady, and she has a very unique and sexy look that you can co-opt into your party costume. You can get the matching wig you see in the picture here. Pick up a black faux cigarette holder to finish off the look. If you want a more modest look with a longer dress skirt, check out this cute costume which comes with the dress, the gloves, a matching wig and the plush white stole.

The Alice in Wonderland movies provide two great royal villainesses to add to the group of femme fatales: The Red Queen (from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, featured on the right) and the Queen of Hearts (the villain of the original Alice in Wonderland movie, featured above). Both fiery, both with a terrible temper, these are two crazy ladies you do not want to cross. They are also a tonne of fun to cosplay as. 

The two regal villains have really cool, recognizable and eye catching outfits which you can tailor to your style: both full length ballgowns and short and sexy versions are available for you to check out.

This post is in anticipation of the upcoming Disney movie Maleficent, featuring the villainess from Disney's Sleeping Beauty as the main character in a re-imagining of the classic fairy tale. Maleficent is one of my favorite movie villains: she scary, stylish, and if you get on her bad side, she'll curse you or turn into a dragon and flat out eat you. Brr. She's also really fun to dress up as for Halloween or any villains themed party, so here's some of my favorite Maleficent costumes. First up is the slinky velvet look black costume above which looks to recreate her outfit from the original Sleeping Beauty movie. This costume comes with everything you see in the picture (aside from the raven - you'll have to catch one yourself!); the dress, the headpiece and the collar.

If you want the original animated movie look with a bit more of a fiery punch, take a look at the beautiful, mysterious and yet terrifying costume on the right. Each costume comes with the amazing dress, collar necklace and horned headpiece.

If you want to try a different look, costumes already exist in the style of Angelina Jolie's depicting of Maleficent in the live-action movie. On the left is the most true-to-the-source-material costume that I've discovered (it looks soooo good!).

Loved Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland? So did I, that's what has inspired me to make this post detailing how to cosplay as the Red Queen, voiced by Helena Bonham-Carter. Its a colorful, very eye-catching look, plus its fun to run around parties asking who ate all the tarts. Its perfect for Halloween. Lets get going then! Can't be late.

To start of with, you'll need the basic dress. There are two options, the first being a long skirted dress which is most true to the original design, featured above. It comes with a petticoat to give the skirt some lift, so you don't have to worry about that, plus you get a free crown as well.

The second option is a more sassy, sexy and flirty version of the costume with a shorter skirt, featured on the right. This outfit comes with the costume dress, a petticoat to give it some volume, a collar with attached choker, a cute little crown and a pair of white knee high stockings.

Once you've chosen your costume, let me suggest some fun accessories for it. This red royal sceptre goes fantastically with either outfit, as does this pair of red and black shoes by Pleaser. These black baby-doll Mary Janes by Leg Avenue also look great with both costumes.

Once you have the costume down, its time to fluff up your hair and do your makeup. Above is cute Red Queen wig that you can buy to get the look quickly, easily, and without the need to perm and dye the living daylights out of your hair. Meanwhile, below is a fun tutorial on how to achieve the Red Queen's makeup, using Snazaroo Facepaint (White), talcum powder, Urban Decay Eyeshadow (Painkiller), elf Liquid Liner and MAC Lipstick (Red).

One of my favorite comic book characters (well, cartoon character to be accurate), DC Comics' Harley Quinn has had a big couple of years. Harley's made appearances in the recent Batman games, Arkham Asylum and City and hopefully will be making a strong comeback in Origins. To celebrate her ditsy goodness, in this post I'll be featuring the best Harley Quinn Costumes, based on her unique outfit in the comics, Batman: The Animated Series and of course the recent video games. If you are looking for the perfect couples costume idea or cosplay, you can't go wrong with Harley Quinn. 1. The Punk Gal (Suicide Squad Costume)

We'll start with the most recent shall we? Suicide Squad may be a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it movie (I personally loved it) but even the haters agree that Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn completely stole the show. As well as having a few fun shout-outs to her old costumes, Harley gets a whole new look in the movie, complete with sexy boy shorts and some awesome coloured highlights. You can get the matching wig, boots and tattoo art for this costume here, and don't forget to pick up a baseball bat to do some whackin'!

2. The Classic Catsuit Costume

First up is the original outfit itself, the classic red and black playing card themed catsuit that Harley wears in the comics and in her original appearance in the animated series. Its sexy but not revealing, which is unusual for villainesses of the comic book world believe me!

The best version of the catsuit I've found is this amazing PVC costume available via Artifice Products. It can be customized in both size and height and while the boots don't come with it the page provides a link where you can find a good pair. This costume isn't cheap - but having seen all the budget versions of the catsuit I'd happily pay extra for something that didn't look cheap and tacky!

You can also get other color combinations on request, but I'm not sure why you'd want to!

3. The Sexy Nurse (Arkham Asylum)

Here's one you're sure to love - the sexy nurse outfit from the Arkham Asylum game. One has to question what happened to the nurses Harley had to steal the various bits of this outfit from while incarcerated in Arkham, but perhaps its best not to ask. This is my personal favorite of her looks, and this is my personal favorite of the costumes as a result! It's also one of the less expensive costumes on this page, making it a great choice for comic book cosplayers on a budget!

This costume comes with the colorful corseted top, the choker, the red and purple fingerless gloves, the belt, the cute skirt, a smiley headpiece and the eye mask you see on the picture. You can pick up a giant comedy syringe here too if you'd like! Finish it off with some sweet black knee high boots with lots of buckles and you're good to go. How about these ones?

4. The Combo (Arkham City)

Next up is a design based on Harley Quinn's costume from Arkham City - a combination of styles from the corset cut nurse top and the spandex catsuit pants. Its a darker and more gritty look, great if your are couple-costuming with some one going for Heath Ledger's Joker rather than one of the more comedic iterations. With every set of this costume you get the top, pants, belt, gloves and choker. Once again I'd recommend these boots as looking totally awesome with the rest of the costume.

5. The Evening Dress (Just for Fun!)

Finally, my fourth favorite Harley Quinn costume is this cute little number: a white collared evening dress style costume which, while not based on any of Harley's actual outfits, is still instantly recognizable as her kind of look and is in general incredibly sweet and sexy. With each costume you get the dress, the beautiful collar as well as the matching red and black ball gloves.
