Lilo and Stitch is one of those Disney movies that is sadly very under-rated despite it's lovely visuals and emotionally involving plot, so for those of us who want to have a little hula-costume party based on the characters from the film, things can be a little tough! Have no fear though, as there are a couple of options for you guys.
It's much easier to find costumes based on the alien Stitch than it is Lilo. They are mostly Kigurumis like the one above, which are awesome as they can be used both as costumes and as a fun pair of pyjamas.
Meanwhile I've managed to find a cute Lilo hula costume for kids, featured on the right. Each set comes with the red tank top, a faux-grass hula skirt, the wrist leis and the leafy headpiece. While there is no official adult version of this costume, you can replicate the look with this red tank top, this adult's hula skirt, and this tropical fern headpiece. All of that will cost you less than $20, which is phenomenal value.
If you want the costume she wears throughout most of the movie, that would be a red hibiscus pattern dress. I've found a very pretty one in both adult and children's sizes, which you can see on the right.
The last thing you'll need is hair to match Lilo's, which is easy enough if you already have long black hair. If not, here is a wig which matches her style almost perfectly! Voila! That is everything you need for the perfect Lilo and Stitch costumes!
Ghost costumes are some of the easiest costumes to pull off, and a classic Halloween look, but as most of the outfits tend to inevitably look the same, it is very hard to do something special with your look. Well fear not! I've hunted down my top five favorite unique and unusual takes on the ghostly spirit that are sure to make any woman stand out from the crowd.
First of all, my personal favorite on this list is Forum Novelties' Ghostly Soul Seeker costume featured above. What makes this costume stand out is the amazing ghost artwork on the bases of the costume as the souls of the tormented reach up towards the wearer like a silent white grim reaper. Each costume comes with the beautiful hooded cloak and the elegant and the haunting dress.
Secondly, featured on the right, is the Haunting Beauty costume by California Costumes. If you are looking for a more specific ghostly look, then here is the chained and bound banshee of old, ready to take on your form. Each set of this costume includes the torn-effect dress, the caped with attached hood, and the creepy chain accessories. You can get a matching white wig here.
I love costumes that are grandiose and over-the-top, and the easiest way to get a fix of the grand is to take a blast from the past. This is why I highly recommend the voluminous and eye-catching ghostly countess costume featured above. The patterns, the lace and the sheer material make this a costume dripping with luxury and one of the most stand-out pieces I've ever seen. I recommend also picking up a petticoat like this one to ensure you get the full volume out of the skirt.
If you like the Victorian ghost look but don't want to have trouble fitting through doors, you might like the lovely and lacy Lost Soul costume on the left. It's a cute old wedding dress/nightdress gown with some lovely embroidering and a very unique look.
Lastly, we have the gothic ghost costume on the right. While it is ostensibly just a basic spooky white dress, I simply love the coloring on the hem of the dress. It looks like it is fading away into smoke in a very effective way. In addition, it makes a great based for costumes based on urban legend ghosts of the graveyard or drowned spirits such as Sadako from the awesome horror movie 'The Ring'. This costume also comes in plus size here.
So there you have it! For those of you who are tired of the usual fare, those were my top five favorite unusual ghost costumes for women this Halloween. I hope you found one you liked and have a lot of fun dressing up. If you enjoyed this post and want to see more, be sure to check out the rest of my blog for all the best costume ideas for women on the net.
I'm a huge fan of the Sinister movie, and while the recent sequel wasn't nearly as good, I still enjoyed it to bits. The series' antagonist, the children-eating Bagul, known to his prey as Mr Boogie, still scares the living daylights out of me, and I figured he would make a cool costume idea for you gals this Halloween.
It's actually a very easy look to pull off, though the prep can take some time. The basic costume is just a black jacket and pants suit set like the one on the right, with a white shirt underneath with the top one or two buttons undone.
The hardest thing is his messed up face, and while there are no Bagul masks out there, there are plenty of guides on how to achieve the look with makeup. Featured above is my favorite of these tutorials, so check it out and give it a go!
Lastly, if you don't already have shoulder length black hair, make up for it with a wig like this one. Voila! That's everything you need to cosplay as Bughuul. I hope you have a lot of fun dressing up and have a great Halloween. Be sure to check out the rest of my blog for even more great costume ideas!
So, I've done a lot of old movie recently in the run up to Halloween, lets give some attention to more recent ones. I'm a huge fan of James Wan movies, and one of his more recent ones caught my attention for it's very interesting visuals and take on the world beyond ('The Further'). The three Insidious movies feature two hair-raisingly scary antagonists, the Bride in Black and the Lipstick Face Man, and this post is going to be looking at how to cosplay as them both.
Let's start with the antagonist of the first movie, the Man with Fire on his Face, the Red-Faced Demon, the Lipstick-Face demon, whatever you want to call him, that is one scary face. Whether people have seen the movie or not, trick-or-treating as this spawn of hell is sure to give people some frights!
Let's start off with the trickiest bit - the face itself. Luckily, it's not as hard as it might seem! Above is an excellent tutorial above which will guide you in creating his creepy face-paint look. Don't forget to finish it off with some fake fangs and some yellow or white contact lenses to get that malicious look in your eyes. Below is a set of contacts that should work perfectly for this look.
To get the hair, you'll need to do the makeup over a bald cap (like this one), wrap and secure some black hair extensions around your head and trim them to get the messed up black monk cut look. If you have a spare bit of furry black material lying about, you can glue this to the bald cap to get much the same effect.
Once you have the make-up done, that is all of the hard stuff out of the way. His outfit is very simple and minimalist - basically just a black catsuit. You can get a perfect one on the right.
Lastly, you'll need his weapons, i.e. his long and sharp talons. For this, the Freddy Krueger style knife gloves will work perfectly - you can pick them up here. These clawed motorcycle gloves, while not as long, will also do the trick. You can also easily make your own set of claw gloves at home if you have a spare set of leather gloves and some long false nails to paint a metallic black. Voila! Costume completed.
Next up, we have the very disturbed and disturbing Bride in Black, who appears in some capacity to cause hell in all three movies. Like the Lipstick Face Demon, a very important part of this costume is getting the make-up perfect, which thankfully there are a number of tutorials on hand to teach you how to do. Above is my personal favorite.
Once again the costume for this character isn't particularly complicated. Just pick up a black wedding style dress (I've included two above for various budgets, but there are a lot more out there, and pair it with a black veil like the one below and a curly grey wig like this one.
If you are looking for some fun accessories to finish off your costume, the most known scene of the Bride in Black is of her holding her candle with a Kubrick stare at the end of the first Insidious movie - why not replicate that with one of the safe flameless candle on the right?
So there you have it! That was my guide to dressing up as the two antagonists of the brilliant Insidious movies. I hope you found everything you need here and have a lot of fun dressing up. Remember not to go too far into the Further now...

I'm making my way through all of the horror classics I missed out on by virtue of not having been born yet, and last night was Nightmare on Elm Street! Freddy Krueger is one of the most iconic slasher villains of all time, and makes a fantastic idea for a Halloween party or trick-or-treat outing. If that sounds like fun, you need to check out the cool Secret Wishes Miss Krueger costume featured above. Each set comes with everything you need: the slash effect stripy dress, the fedora hat and the knife-fingers slasher glove. Pretty awesome!
Once you have the costume, you can really go all out by doing up your face with the same kind of burn victim effect which Freddy had. Above is a great tutorial on how to achieve a fantastic look using things you can get at any drug store, so check it out! If you want something quick and easy though, here is a Freddy mask you can pick up.
One of the most iconic stalkers of the night in history is the blood-sucking vampire of old, a timeless seductress who can make anyone hide under the covers. It's this timeless quality that always makes them a perfect look for any Halloween party or trick-or-treating outing, and as a result there are a wealth of vampire costumes out there to choose from. To help you out, I've narrowed them all down to my top five personal favorites and collected them in one place for you to check out. Let's get started! If you are shopping from the UK, head here.
First up is the sensual Dreamgirl Bloodsucking Beauty costume featured at the top of this page, which comes with the beautiful dress and the matching reversible capelet. I love how glittery the sequins on the top of the dress are! If you want something a little more unusual, you can get a similar style of costume in pink and black right here.
On the right is a costume with a more mature, velvety material and bold deep red color by California Costumes, who always make fantastic quality outfits. The matching wig is available here. This costume would look especially amazing paired with a lacy black gothic choker like this one.
Love lace? Me too, which is why I've included the gorgeous Just One Bite costume seen on the left. With flocked satin, velvet and black lace, this is one of the most luxurious costumes you can get, and for a very reasonable price. The corset top of the dress has padded underwiring designed to accentuate your figure and keep you looking wonderful all night long. The split skirt is super sexy too. Be sure to pick up some matching fangs like these in order to finish off the look.
If you like your costumes with an overwhelming sense of grandeur and class, then don't settle for anything less than the absolutely incredibly Vampiress of Versailles costume above. Its a stunning ball gown in a very French 'Mary Antoinette' style with gothic overtones than would make an amazing Halloween costume, as well as working well for Masquerades. It comes with a petticoat too, so you'll get that full luscious volume with the skirt. If you like this style but want a shorter skirt, be sure to check out this mini-dress alternative.
Last but not least, for something a little more slinky and subtle but still not out of place at a Halloween dinner party, take a look at the Dear-Lover Vixen Vampire costume on the right. The bat-wing style sleeves are detachable, so you can customize this costume to your tastes.

Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble, it's almost time for the witching hour! Halloween is fast approaching, the most classic icon of the season of terror is the cackling witch riding about on her broomstick. That makes it an easy and great choice of costume for parties and trick-or-treating, with a wealth of costumes to choose from. To help you narrow down your choices, I've featured my top ten favorites here. If you are shopping from the UK or EU, find witch costumes here.
Let's start off with some easy, simple and classic witch looks. When you picture one of the sorceresses of the damned, you usually think black dress, long fingernails, pointy hat and a broomstick. Well, here are few costumes that fit the bill.
If you're a short and sexy mini-dress kind of gal, then take a peek at Leg Avenue's Bewitching Witch costume up above. If you like it, I strongly recommend getting a black petticoat like this one to give the skirt some lift. You can get a similar dress in deep and bold red too, see the costume at the top of the page, which comes with the dress, hat, and the cute gloveletts and belt.
If you are looking for a longer and more conservative dress, then there are a lot of options available there too. Leg Avenue makes a very cute and sexy number in the Sultry Sorceress style featured on the right, which comes with the incredible dress with flowing net cape and the matching crooked witch hat. I love the off-the-shoulder look of the dress, any girl is sure to look amazing.
Want something in between? Try the cute ragged cut purple sorceress costume on the left. Each set comes with the dress, the matching hat, the eyeball medallion and the eyeball hand accessory. You can get a great wig to go with it (or any of these costumes) here.
This one is my personal favorite of the costumes on this list, InCharacter Costumes' Bewitching Beauty costume. The purple and black coloring is both atmospheric and really elegant, and the cut of the skirt and the pattern on the bodice are very unique and eye-catching. Each set of this costume comes with the beautiful corset style dress and the matching pointy hat.
Looking for something bright, colorful and bold with a bit of Halloweeny zest? How about tossing a lick of orange into your outfit? Above are two awesome orange and black witch costumes for you to check out - the candy corn themed costume on the right especially matches the season. You can even buy matching candy corn colored Mary Jane shoes to go with it. Pretty cool!
If you want something quite unique to make you stand out from the other witches, then why not pick up a costume with an unusual cut in the skirt? For example, check out the gorgeous Broomstick Babe costume above, with its beautiful asymmetric skirt with lace overlay and pretty matching hat. Be sure to get the matching petticoat here in order to give the skirt some lift.
Another unusual look is the mini-dress and long-skirt dark green combo featured on the right. I love the lacy sleeves and hanging sleevelets too, its another thing that makes this costume stand out from the crowd. Each costume also comes with the matching hat.
Last but not least, on the left we have a sexy and revealing outfit with a purple skirt and matching witchy hat. If you prefer the costume without the cut skirt, fear not, because the hem is completely adjustable, meaning you can have it as a normal long skirted dress if you like. If on the other hand you like cut-leg look, be sure to check out this black and red dress as well.

Do you wish your gaze could turn men to stone? Well why not get yourself a Medusa costume for Halloween? At the very least you'll look good enough to make men stop in tracks if not drop dead entirely. If that sounds like fun, then read on to discover my top favorite Medusa costumes. There is sure to be one that suits your needs. If you are shopping from the UK or EU, you can find Medusa costumes here.
First up, we have some form fitting dark numbers worthy of the terror of Greek myth. Featured above is a stunning costume by pro-costume makers Disguise. I love the velveteen look of the material, it's very luxurious. Each set of this costume comes with the sexy, slinky dress, the cute snake armband and the Medusa headpiece. That's pretty much everything you need to look incredible.
In a similar style is the Calfornia Costumes Mythical Siren costume on the right. I love the shimmering material used on the dress, the sexy off-the-shoulder sleeves look amazing and the veils attached to the back of the costume are really quite beautiful. Each costume comes with the gorgeous silky dress and the snake headband. I think this snake armband would look very cute with this costume. For both these costumes, a set of golden desert-style sandals like these would also look great and complete the look just perfectly.
Medusa costumes also commonly come in dark shades of green, so here are two great examples of this. Up above is a very form-fitting and sexy costume with a unique single-strap design that shows some skin but still leaves a lot to the imagination. The snake-like shredded skirt also look pretty cool. Each set of this costume comes with the dress, the headband and the wrist-cuff bracelet. If you like the wig she is wearing in the picture, you can find that here.
Want something a little brighter? Well the costume on the left pairs sensual dark greens with bold and shiny gold embroidery and glittery fabric. The asymmetrical skirt really stands out too. Every costume in this style includes the dress, the snake headpiece and the gold armband. You can get the matching boot sandals here, and this costume is also available in plus sizes here.
Need something even more glitzy than that? Well you're going to love the costume below, a lovely shiny green mini-dress which actually lights up! You don't get more unique than that, so you are sure to stand out from the crowd. The on-off switch for the lights is hidden in a secret pocket in the dress, so it is very discrete. Each costume comes with the dress, the lovely snake hair headpiece, and the matching armbands.
Last but not least, I picked out the costume on the right because it has my favorite of the medusa headpieces, but the dress is gorgeous too. Surprisingly it is the only costume that really evokes the snake theme in the dress, with snake-skin patterns on the bodice and sleevelets. If you'd like to buy the headpiece separately, you can buy that here. A snake cane similar to the one you see in the picture is available here: sadly I haven't been able to find the one the model uses.
So there you go! Five super sexy and scary Medusa costumes for Halloween. I hope you found one that is perfect for you, and have a lot of fun partying and trick-or-treating. Be sure to check out the rest of my blog for even more awesome costumes for women and girls of all ages!

Above is her cute green costume dress from the first movies, and you can find her more ornate gown from later movies here. With both costumes you get the matching ogre ears head piece.
