The toys and the show have been super-popular among people of all ages, and I'm sure there will be a lot of pony fans out on the streets trick-or-treating this Halloween, so why not show off your fandom? It makes a good group costume theme too. There's a tonne of fantastic My Little Pony costumes out there for fans to choose from, so I've included all of my favorites right here for you to check out. First of all, we have the costume for my personal favorite of the ponies, the loyal and energetic Rainbow Dash, featured above! Not only is it super colorful, each set of this costume comes with a huge amount of stuff: the character catsuit, the cute tail piece and the boot covers to resemble pony hooves, and the pony ears head piece. Next up we have the kind friend to all animals, the beautiful sun-yellow Fluttershy. Her gorgeous costume is featured on the right - isn't it the cutest? Next up, we have the beautiful and glamorous Sailor Venus, or Mina Aino as she is known outside of her secret identity. She's definitely the most chic of the sailor scouts, so if you have a fashionista in your group, Sailor Venus might be the perfect role for her! Meanwhile, on the right is the costume you will need if you want to dress up as Sailor Mini-Moon, or Chibi-Usa in the Japanese. As Sailor Moon's daughter, and therefore the youngest Scout, she is best played by the youngest member of your group!

Here is a great costume idea for a pair of friends who just can't be separated: the close duo (be they lovers or cousins depending on which version of the show you watched!) of Sailor Uranus (costume on the left) and Neptune (featured on the right), or Amara Tenoh and Michelle Kaioh as they go by in the real world. Last but not least, we have the dark and distant Sailor Pluto, guardian of time, and part-time physics student in her real-world disguise as Trista Meioh. This costume has a beautiful gothic look which I really like. If you don't already have long blank hair like Pluto's, don't worry! You can pick up a gorgeous long black wig here to do all the work for you. And don't let anyone tell you that Pluto isn't a planet anymore!

With their bold and sexy stripes and fun accessories, prisoner costumes make an awesome theme costume for Halloween or fancy dress parties. Prisoners also make a fun group costumes if you are going out dressed up with your friends. This post is going to look at some of my personal favorite prisoner costumes - I hope you like them, and don't get caught!

First up we have two costumes in a similar style, each featuring a sexy prisoner medium-sleeved jumpsuit with a matching hand-cuff belt, one in the modern orange scrubs style and the other with the more classic black and white stripes. Both look great with knee and thigh-high boots and some fishnets. 

Why not pair them with some cute accessories, such as these metal handcuffs or a ball and chain around your ankle? These accessories go well with any of the costumes on this page!

Here's another one I like up above, this time with a cute black tutu skirt. Its one of the more unique looking prisoner costumes and is sure to make you stand out from the other inmates.

Got an eye for glimmer? This costume featured on the left is so shimmery, there ought to be a law! I love the cute little heart charm around the neck too - I guess she's a prisoner of love. This costume comes with the dress and the matching hat.

Last of all is the Prisoner of Love costume featured on the right. Something about this costume just stands out to me, I think its the bold sharp corners.

Top Five Butterfly Costumes for Women

Butterflies are one of the most beautiful creatures of the animal kingdom, and for girls who like to show up their colorful nature, they are the perfect costume theme. Butterflies also make a fun group theme too! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, go here for lots of great butterfly costumes.

To get you started, I've picked out my favorite butterfly costumes for you to check out right here, starting with the one above. Its designed to look just like the Monarch butterfly, a common butterfly you've probably seen in your garden. It's beautiful, recognizable, and it comes with everything you need: the silky satin dress, cute antennae headpiece and a pair of beautiful butterfly wings that light up. Why not pair it up with some fun orange and black stripey stockings? 

Next up, if you want a more gothic look, check out the cute costume on the right. It' combines some lovely shades of black, white and yellow, and goes very well with a goth girl's existing accessories - especially if you have some black fishnet tights to go with it. I picked the one above for its unique and interesting butterfly mask. This is a blue version of the Monarch butterfly look, and its gorgeous! If you are more of a girly-girl, then don't worry, there's a butterfly costume for you too. On the left is a look that's great for girls who look pretty in pink, complete with a fluttery dress, delicate wings and a pair of pink antennae.

Last but not least is the drop-dead gorgeous costume on the right. Those I always like to provide a wide range of colors of costumes in these posts, I just had to include this one because of how amazing and luxurious it is. This sparkly number is all velvet, lace and rhinestones, and comes with the dress, a petticoat to give it some lift, the matching wings and a dainty little headpiece.

The costume above is my favorite Queen costume, a slinky and sexy dress with high collar and matching crown. With this costume, you are sure to be the fairest in all the land. Or else.

Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

Ursula, the big bad of The Little Mermaid has my favorite villain song (Poor Unfortunate Souls, check it out!) and is one of the more unique Disney Villains, what with being an octopus and all. The costume above is what inspired me to create this post, because its really awesome - a dress with 3D tentacles emerging from the skirt. Its really eye-catching, and I love it to bits. Big dog lover? I bet you loved Disney's 101 Dalmatians. Cruella de Vil is one scary lady, and she has a very unique and sexy look that you can co-opt into your party costume. If you want a more modest look with a longer dress skirt, check out this cute costume which comes with the dress, the gloves, a matching wig and the plush white stole.

The Alice in Wonderland movies provide two great royal villainesses to add to the group of femme fatales: The Red Queen (from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, featured on the right) and the Queen of Hearts (the villain of the original Alice in Wonderland movie, featured above). Both fiery, both with a terrible temper, these are two crazy ladies you do not want to cross. They are also a tonne of fun to cosplay as. 

The two regal villains have really cool, recognizable and eye catching outfits which you can tailor to your style: both full length ballgowns and short and sexy versions are available for you to check out.

Here's a really sweet and unique idea for a group costume fest: Crayola crayons! There's a wide range of sexy crayon themed tank dresses with matching pointy hats you can get for yourself and all of your girlfriends. Each of you pick a shade and hit the town! The colors you can get include:

Group Cosplay Ideas: The Women of the Ace Attorney Universe (Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney)

So, I just finished playing Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, and it was amaaaazing! Seriously, if you haven't played it yet, load up the Nintendo 3DS store and buy it right away. Anyway, that was the inspiration for this post, a guide to dressing up as the women of the Ace Attorney universe: Trucy Wright, Ema and Lana Skye, Maya Fey, Franziska von Karma, Iris and Dahlia Hawthorne, and Athena Cykes. Each of these costume ideas is great for fancy dress and conventions generally, but its always fun to get your friends together and go as the whole team.

Maya Fey Costume

Every Ace Attorney fan is familiar with Maya Fey, Wright's spunky genki girl side kick and spirit-medium extraordinaire. She's a tonne of fun to cosplay as, and I've found a costume above that I particularly like. You can also get a version with more shiny, silky material here. I've also found some similar shoes to Maya's sandals to match it here. I've yet to find anywhere than consistently stocks her Magatama necklace, but I recommend searching on eBay as there is always somebody selling various replicas and Magatama jewellery there.

Maya's hair is quite difficult to pull off, so here's what I recommend doing. Buy a very long haired black wig like this one, and tie a small topknot in it to match the one on the top of Maya's head. Tie a purple ribbon around the base. Next up, create the large bead in her hair by painting some Styrofoam balls or large ping pong balls purple, and make holes large enough to thread a section of hair at the front through. They should stay up on their own, if not, use a small bobble or a bobby pin the same color as your hair to keep them in place.

It's time to do some scientific investigating! Forensics to be precise, with the wonderful Ema Skye. She's Lana's sister and the sidekick of the final case of the first game, as well as a recurring character throughout the series when she later becomes a detective. 

Lets start off with her outfit. On the left is a very cute Ema Skye replica costume that is perfect for conventions and parties which comes with everything you see in the picture.

Next up, you'll need some accessories to finish of the look. An easy way to get her look hair-wise is using this cute Ema Skye wig, and you can pick up glasses that look very similar to hers here.

Franziska von Karma is one of my favorite characters in the whole game, and her's is definitely my favorite outfit. Check out the gorgeous costume above, in all its amazing excessively large ascot glory; perfect for a Franziska cosplay. The same website also makes sweet replicas of Franziska's boots here that you can pick up. Also, here's a fake whip. You already know why. As for her hair, Franziska has a short crop of silver-gray hair, and I think this wig looks quite close and would compliment the costume nicely.

Woo! Trucy! Trucy is so unbelievably adorable, and is a perfect cosplay idea for younger and older fans of the games alike. Plus, magicians are really cool. I won't hear anything different. Trucy is Phoenix Wright's daughter, and she debuted in Turnabout Trump, the first episode of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. Her outfit is as colorful as her character too.

This costume on the right is just perfect for any budding Trucy cosplayer. You get everything you see here in the picture, including the cape, ascot, cute little strapless dress and the bag, which is everything you need! If you don't naturally have short brown hair, fret not, because you can find a cute Trucy Wright wig here to finish of the look.

Athena Cykes is the latest addition to the Ace Attorney roster, a bright and enthusiastic new lawyer who is both a sidekick and a protagonist in her own right depending on the case. She rounds of the list of primary colors when it comes to our defense attorneys - Phoenix is blue, Apollo is red, and she is a summery shade of yellow. Above is a costume made to look just like hers, so check it out!

Her hair is going to be incredibly hard to replicate, unless you have the good fortune of being a red-headed anime character with crazy hair yourself. Nevertheless, you can always get that look with an equally crazy wig. Check it out here.

Iris Hawthorne Costume

Iris Hawthorne is a figure from Phoenix Wright's distant past, a quiet and demure young girl living in the shadow of her psychopathic twin sister Dahlia. As a member of a Fey branch family, she is also a spirit medium (albeit not a strong one), and her most famous costume is a variation on the Fey medium costume. There's a cute costume based on it which you can check out on the left. 

Iris' hair is also simple to style yourself if you have long hair - just tie two french braids on either side of your head. If you don't have long hair or not the right color, pick up an appropriate wig and style it in the same way.

Dahlia is one of my favorite villains from the series; she's just so unrepentant and evil! Part of her charm is how beautiful and gentle she looks until you set her off, and the outfit above captures that perfectly. To style the hair, do exactly what I advised for Iris' hair, except use a red haired wig rather than a black one.
