Top Five Steampunk Costumes for Women

Forum Steampunk Vickie Complete Costume, Brown
Getting ready to hop on the steam train and go on some Steampunk themed costume adventures? Whether it's your birthday or you are looking for the perfect Halloween costume, this makes a unique, original and creative choice of costume. There are many to choose from, so I though I would share by top five personal favorites with you all. Let's get started! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, go here for Steampunk costumes.

California Costumes
Steampunk Girl
To start us off, at the top of this post is the Steampunk Vickie costume by Forum, a beautiful ensemble of tiered skirt, interesting hooped under-skirt, ruffled collar and eye-catching sleeves. This is a great place to start if you are new to steampunk and want something imaginative but low-maintenance and instantly recognizable as Steampunk style. Each set of this costume includes the ruffled top, the brown jacket, the black corset belt and the tiered and exposed hoop skirt. Why not finish off the look with some Aviator Goggles like these?

Mystery House Steampunk Lady
Next up on the list, we have the sexy deep red-brown steampunk dress costume featured on the right. It comes with beautiful gear decorated dress, the cute hat and a pair of matching aviator machinist goggles. To give the skirt a bit of lift, you can find the petticoat the model uses here, and some absolutely perfect steampunk knee high boots can be found here.

Want something a little less elaborate, more demure, but still recognizable as a wonderful steampunk ensemble? Take a look at the very pretty Mystery House Steampunk Lady costume on the left. The jacket has removable ruffles, so you can personalize it how you like, and the skirt is just lovely. Sadly this costume doesn't come with the little feathered hat you see in the picture, but you can buy that separately here.

Steampunk Victorian Moire 2-pc Ensemble
Here's another of my recommendations for those of you out there who want to keep their steampunk costume simple or are looking for a good base to work on: the Steampunk Victorian Moire costume featured above. I love the design of the shirt - it's a very original and unique look. Each set of this costume comes with the blouse and the matching skirt.

The Original Cult Inc
Steampunk Sweetie Costume
Want to jazz things up a bit and go for colors that break the mold and stand out? Moving away from the traditional browns and black doesn't break the theme, but it will make you the most eye-catching person in the crowd! That's why I'm recommending The Original Cult's Steampunk Sweetie costume, which featured a beautiful green dress with intricate cog patterns decorating it, gorgeous lace adornment and a cute matching collar.

So there you have it, my top five favorite Steampunk costumes for women. I hope you found a costume that is perfect for your party or event, and have a lot of fun dressing up. Top Ten Roaring 20's Flapper Girl Costumes

Forum Novelties Women's Flapper Costume Dress, Black
Looking for some cute costumes to help you act out the crazy decadence of the 1920's flapper scene? Whether you are getting ready for a Chicago themed birthday bash or setting up to replicate one of the lavish parties from the Great Gatsby, these roaring twenties costumes are sure to steer you right. Let's have a look at some of my personal favorites! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, you can find lots of flapper girl costumes here.

Asymmetrical skirts were a big part of 1920's flapper fashion, especially skirts that were longer at the back and shorter at the front. The three costumes above capture the look perfectly in three different styles - the one in the middle is my personal favorite! Each of these costumes comes with at least the dress and the matching cloche headpiece, so they are pretty good value.

Forum Novelties Roaring 20's Swingin' In Sequins Flapper Costume
If you are dressing up as Velma Kelly or Roxie Hart for a Chicago musical themed party, I recommend you check out the swinging black sequin flapper girl costume I've featured above - it's pretty close to the one that Velma Kelly wears in her musical numbers! You can get loads of matching accessories for this costume, such as cigarette holders, garters, and much, much more.

Adult Dazzling Flapper Costume
Here's another thing that saw a lot of light in the 1920's - tassels, tassels and even more tassels! Costumes like the one above were very common, and this is a really good replica of the style. This costume comes with the sexy dress, the choker, and of course the matching headpiece. Why not pair it with a cute white feather boa and a silver cigarette holder?

Dazzling Gold Flapper Costume
If you want something a little bit bolder, or if you are heading to the party with a friend and you both want to have matching yet contrasting costumes (it's a cool look!) then check out the costume on the right, a similar costume but with a beautiful gold color base instead of silver.

Red Flapper Costume
Each set of this costume comes with the amazing dress, the choker and the matching gold cloche headband. You are sure to be raking in the chips!

On the left is a slightly altered style of tassel adorned flapper girl costume, with a more pronounced tassel skirt and a beautiful sequinned upper dress. The bold red color is also a nice touch, and is sure to make anyone wearing this piece stand out the most at any roaring 20's themed party.

Each set of this costume comes with the incredibly gorgeous red dress as well as the cute matching feather headpiece.

Snazzy Purple Flapper Adult Costume
Last but not least, if you are a girly girl who can't get enough of feminine colors in her Halloween costume, then you are in luck, since there are elegant girly colored versions of most of the costumes on this page! If you are a big fan of the tassels, for example, check out the lilac flapper dress I've picked out above. It's really quite beautiful, so I had to include it on this list.

Jazzy Flapper Costume
Last, but definitely not least, if you want a super girly, super bold and spectacular 1920's flapper girl costume, then check out the bold hot pink dress costume on the right.

This dress definitely wouldn't look out of place in the crazy scenes of The Great Gatsby, and I especially love the big pink and black feathered headpiece you get with the dress. It is really eye-catching.

So there you have it! Those were my top ten favorite 1920's Flapper costumes for roaring 20s themed parties. I hope you found one that is perfect for you and have a whale of a time. Make sure your party is large - it's much more intimate!

How to Cosplay as Yuna from Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X Cosplay Costume Yuna Summon Set
I've been crazy about the Final Fantasy series ever since I played Final Fantasy 8 on the PS2 at the age of seven, and I've played all of them since. Definitely in my top ten is the beautiful and character driven game of Final Fantasy X, especially given its wonderful, demure but emotionally powerful protagonist, Yuna. This post goes out to all you Final Fantasy 10 lovers who want to dress up as the summoner! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, go here for Yuna costumes.

Cosplay Final Fantasy X-2
Yuna Halloween Costume
First of all, featured at the top of this post if an absolutely stunning replica of Yuna's summoner costume from Final Fantasy 10. The colors and the detail on this costume is absolutely spot on, and the designer can make it to your measurements, so it is sure to fit really well.

I admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Final Fantasy X-2, even if it was a bit of a...radical departure from the tone of the original game. It was fun and bubbly at least, and that really shines through in the new costume Yuna got for that game, which I also love. If you want to dress up as post-Yevon Yuna, check out the amazing costume on the right.

Final Fantasy X Blue Stone Necklace
Once you have the costume, you still aren't done! Yuna has a lot of very iconic jewelry that she wears, so it's definitely worth picking up some replicas if you want to be faithful to the source material. Most of them aren't too expensive, which is great.

A replica if Yuna's bell necklace from the first game can be found here, her beautiful lotus flower ring can be bought here, and her pearl bracelet can be picked up here. Her earring can be found here.

If you want to treat yourself to a really special piece, why not take a look at the amazing replica of the blue crystal necklace that Tidus gifted Yuna in Final Fantasy 10? It's featured on the left.

FINAL FANTASY X Cosplay Props Yuna Yuna 2th double guns
Now it's time to finish off the look. If you have short brown hair, just wear it with a parting down the middle, and if you don't, be sure to pick up the cute wig on the right. Add some cute accessories and props to the costume if you have a little budget left to spare. A costume based on the first game should include Yuna's Summoner's staff (which you can find here), while a costume based on the sequel could use some cute hand pistols like the amazing replica ones above.

Japan Final Fantasy Yuna Cosplay Wig
So there you have it! My guide to creating the perfect Yuna costume. It's as easy peasy as that! I hope you found some ideas that are perfect for you and have a great time cosplaying as your favorite Final Fantasy character. If you liked this post and want to see more great cosplay ideas, you should check out the rest of my blog for even more wonderful costumes for women in all sorts of styles. I'm sure you'll find some good ones!

How to Dress Up as Disney's Princess Cinderella

Deluxe Cinderella Costume
Not every princess is clad from head to toe in pink, and nowhere does blue look prettier than in the luscious ball gown of Disney's classic Princess Cinderella. This is an absolutely beautiful and stunning look, which makes it the perfect costume for any woman who want to look and feel like royalty for Halloween or another party event. This is my guide to dressing up as Cinderella! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, go here for Cinderella costumes.

Disguise Disney Cinderella
Adult Deluxe Costume
First of all, at the top of this page, we have my personal favorite of the Cinderella costumes available out there. I love the sheer fur cape that you get with dress, and the glittering detail on the gown is just amazing. With this set you get a cape, the dress, the choker, a headband and even the white ball room gloves. I recommend also buying a hooped petticoat skirt like this one to go underneath the skirt and give it that lovely volume.

Celina Women's Cinderella
Satin Cosplay Costume Set
A similar costume in lighter colors and featuring a gorgeous sheer layered dress skirt is available on the right. I also recommend getting a petticoat for this dress as well, both as it can be a bit too see-through against some skin tones and to give it a bit of lift.

Next up in the costume department, if you are looking for something a little shorter and sexier so you can show off your sassy side, then check out the lovely Celina Cinderella Cosplay on the left. I love the little sheer puffy sleeves and the silky material of the dress! It's really cute and sure to make you look amazing on the night of the ball. Just don't be late!
Still not short and sexy enough for you? This beautiful Cindy costume is certain to fit the bill. The material is lovely and silky, the skirt sassy and ruffled, and you even get the cute headband and choker with every costume set. I think this costume would look even better with a white tutu like this one under the skirt to give it some volume.

Ellie Shoes Women's Heel Clear
Slipper with Silver Glitter Heart
Naturally, no Cinderella costume is truly complete without some amazing glass slippers for you to leave behind at the ball. There are a number of transparent slipper style shoes you can use for your costume, depending on how confident you are with heels. The ones I used for my costume were the ones on the right - I'm not great with heels, and these were absolutely lovely! If you are a big fan of heels however, here are an absolutely stunning pair that would match a Cinderella costume perfectly.

Next up, Cindy's hair. If you have long hair and want to have a go at styling it yourself, I recommend you check out this fun Youtube tutorial on how to pull off the look. If not, you can use a wig to pull off the same effect. Cinderella wigs are actually quite hard to come by in women's sizes, however. I've found the cute one on the right, but it comes in quite a small size, so I would only recommend it if you are quite petite.

Light Blond Cinderella Style Wig
Another cute wig I've found that I think would match a Cinderella costume quite well is the golden hair wig on the right: the color is a little dark, but the style is just perfect.

Golden Anime Girl Hair Cosplay Wig
So that was my guide to dressing up like the beautiful and elegant Princess Cinderella. I hope you found some costume ideas that are just perfect for you! If you are still costume hunting, be sure to check out the rest of this blog. In particular, you might like to look at all of the other Disney costume guides I've written, available here.

First of all, we have the sexy but still conservative Leg Avenue Jasmine costume featured at the top of this post. It's gotten pretty good reviews too, so I highly recommend it!

Delicious Arabian
Nights Sexy Costume
If you are looking for something a little more shiny and shimmery so you can be the most eye-catching princess at the party, then check out the beautiful Sassy Prestige costume featured on the right. It shows off a little more skin than the one above too. Each set of this costume comes with the top with sheer sleeves, the billowing harem pants and a cute matching headpiece to finish off the look. Pretty cool!

Last but not least, we have the Delicious Arabian Nights costume on the left. This one does something really interesting with the harem pants by making them out of a sheer material, and I really like the gold embellishments. The sleeves of this costume can be worn on or off the shoulder for a bit of variety.

Jasmine Adult Wig Deluxe
Last but not least, it's time to do your hair up in that classic, exotic Jasmine style. If you have long hair, you might want to consider styling it yourself as it is not a difficult look to pull off. If you are interested, you should check out this awesome Jasmine hair video tutorial. If not, you can get the Disney Princess look quickly and easily by picking up a wig in the right style, such as the very pretty one on the right.

If you like the paisley pattern, above is another costume you might want to check out, a cute lime green number with a funky orange paisley print and a really colorful and funky belt. You can even get the matching orange boots for it here. Note that the costume is backless, so it may not be best for cold weather unless you wear a shirt underneath.
