Halloween is fast approaching, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is as strong as ever. I bet loads of kids are going to be wanting to dress up as their favorite superheroes to go trick-or-treating, but it can be difficult to find decent comic book superhero costumes for girls. That's why I've made this post, to give you a handy guide to all the cute Avengers costumes out there for young girls.

First of all, we have the brave and the bold, patriotic super hero that is Captain America! There is actually a lot of choice when it comes to this hero, so I thought I would just include two of my personal favorites for you to take a look at. Up above we have a lovely piece from Rubies, a bright and shiny blue Captain America dress with a hood in case it rains.

Second, on the right is a lovely costume with a bit of a darker color scheme. Every set comes with the adorable sparkling tutu dress, the winged Captain America eye mask, and a pair of matching red gauntlets.

Regardless of which costume you choose in the end, be sure to finish off the look with a bold Captain America shield.

Here's my favorite of the Avengers - the kick-ass former assassin Black Widow. Featured above is an amazing Black Widow costume that any fan is sure to look incredible in and have a lot of fun with! Iron Man II Iron Ironette Avengers Assemble JR Teen (7-9)

He's one of the most popular of the Avengers, despite finding a way to nearly cause the apocalypse every movie, he's Iron Man! Above are two beautiful Iron Man costumes, one for younger girls and another for tweens. Both come with the matching masks too, to complete the look.

Marvel Universe Thor Girl Costume, Red/White/Blue

Here's a costume that has only become available recently - my attempts to find Thor costumes for girls in the past has never ended in success. It was well worth the wait though, the costume above is very true to the character's look and looks pretty sweet. It comes with both the dress and the headpiece - all you need to finish it off is a hammer!

Sadly there are no more feminine Hulk costumes out there at the moment, but if she's a tomboy I recomment picking up the costume above! It comes with the muscle chest jumpsuit with attached boot tops and the Hulk mask. To finish off the look, why not pick up some hulkish green hand gloves!

Last but not least, on the right we have Hawkeye! Each version of the costume comes with the sleek black jacket with attached shirt-front and pants with attached boot tops. You can get a child's replica of his awesome bow right here.

First of all, featured at the top of this post, is the gorgeously colorful Candy Girl costume from her California Gurls music video. This outfit is sure to make you stand out at any party and satisfy any sweet tooth this Halloween. You can also get the Candy Girl costume in children's sizes too! Don't forget to pick up a matching blue wig to go with it. These stockings would look very cute with these costumes too.

Here's another awesome outfit from California Girls, featured on the right - her controversial and super sexy Whipped Cream crop top costume with slinky short-shorts. It's gotten fantastic reviews, and is sure to make anyone look stunning this Halloween. If you don't already have long black hair like Katy does, you can complete the look with this matching Katy Perry wig. 

Moving away from California Girls, I'm also a huge fan of Katy's sensual jungle girl costume from the music video for Roar. On the left is a great replica of it for you to check out, and it comes with loads of stuff: the tiger print bustier, the sexyleaf-look skirt with shorts, the brown armbands, and the amazing floral headpiece. Everything you need to look incredible! A long black wig would go well with this costume too.

Here's another cool and coloful outfit for all you Egypt-fans out there, the bright and bold Katy-Patra, queen of the dance, from her 2014 Dark Horse music video. I just love the eagle-wing cape, it looks really good! Each set comes with the crop top, the decorated collar, the colorful skirt, and the matching headpiece. Meanwhile, on the right we have the officially licensed costume from Katy Perry's Last Friday Night music video. It comes with the stunning pink and green mini-dress and the matching belt.  This costume would look especially great with some colorful jewellery, such as these multi-colored bangles. Be sure to pair it with some bold and bright make up.

Last but not least, below we have the colorful candy-floss pastel dress inspired by Katy Perry's outfits from the Part of Me tour. It's very pin-up girl in style and is bound to make you look gorgeous. It even comes with the cute polka-dot umbrella. That's pretty awesome if you ask me!Be sure to pick up a pink petticoat like this one to give the skirt loads of lift like you see in the photo!

Frozen remains my favorite Disney movie of all time, and it seems the hundred of little girls I've seen around the country dressing up as the characters to see the movie, shop at the Disney store, or even just go out for lunch, agree with me. I love seeing mini-Anna's and Elsa's running around (even if the only line of the movie is 'Let it Gooo' on loop), so I've decided to make a post on my personal favorite Anna and Elsa costumes that I've seen. Frozen: Elsa Deluxe Girl's Costume

First up, starting with the Snow Queen herself, we have the beautiful Pettigirl costume set features above, with a wonderful sequinned bodice and silky skirt. It is super affordable, and it comes with a tonne of stuff too. With every set you get the stunning blue dress, the white sparkling cape, a glittery tiara as well as a matching necklace and bracelet jewellery set. She can wear those on the day-to-day as well, which is pretty neat.

Secondly, on the right is the officially licensed Elsa costume from the Disney Store! It features a stunning shiny blue dress with a glittery organza overlay with snowflakes on it. It's super cute, and she is sure to love it! There's lots of accessories you can match with it too - if your little girl wants a cape, here's a lovely Frozen inspired cape, and a matching tiara is available here.

While it's definitely the outfit everyone remembers, Elsa's blue dress isn't her only outfit from the movie. My favorite is actually the dark, velvety number she wears for her coronation - it's incredibly beautiful. Next up, we have the plucky and determined Princess Anna! She has some super cute outfits to choose from, starting with her main dress that she wears to go trekking up the mountain in search of Elsa. Above is the full outfit, with a long-sleeved, flower embroidered dress with fur lined pink cape to go with it. If you choose this costume for Halloween, be sure to also pick up this adorable Princess Anna wig with matching snow-cap to complete the look!

If your little Princess wants the outfit without the cape, you can find a lovely replica of Anna's main gown on the right, complete with a purple slip to give the skirt some lovely volume. This is the officially licensed Disney Store dress, so you are guaranteed good quality from it. Why not buy this cool pink Princess Anna tiara to go with the costume? You can even get a matching jewellery set to go with it, if you especially want a treat.

Any little girl is sure to look amazing in this wonderful costume, so I highly recommend it!

Disney Pixar's Inside Out: Costumes for Women and Girls

So you know that sequence from the beginning of Up that made everyone cry? Well say hello to a movie which is that, but all of the time. I seriously love Disney Pixar's Inside Out to bits, and I'm planning to go as Sadness to my next Halloween bash. So, I've done a fair bit of research on the topic, and thought I would give you my guide to dressing up as the ladies from Inside Out.

First up, we have the leading lady, the ever happy Joy. Up above is a replica of the dress she wears in the movie, and you can find kids sizes here! The best thing about this cute little summer dress is that it's perfectly appropriate for non-cosplay wear as well as Halloween, so you are sure to get a lot of use out of it (little girls should especially love it!)

Once you have the dress, you'll need all the accessories to go with it. If you want to be true to the movie, you'll go bare-foot like Joy, but since that might hurt your toes I recommend picking up some cute green sandals like these.

Meanwhile, to get Joy's stunning blue crop hair, just pick up the cool Pixie wig on the right. Easy peasy! Now get out there and make some happy memories.

Inside Out: Sadness Glasses and Wig

Chunky Long-Sleeve Turtleneck

A Sadness costume will help you relax and dwell on the weight of life's problems. This cute little bundle of...uh, non-joy is my favorite character from the movie, and one of the easiest to dress up as. All you need is a white turtleneck like the one on the right (here's one for kids), a normal pair of dark blue jeans (you'll probably already have these at home), and a blue wig and nerd glasses to match. I've featured the perfect wig and glasses set above - it will fit most adults and children easily and is super comfy!

That's the outfit; the last thing you will need it some blue face paint. Beware, ordinary facepaint will get on your clothes! If you have a bit of extra room in the budget, I strongly recommend picking up Kryolan Aqua-color - it's the makeup professional cosplayers use and it doesn't rub out on clothes, meaning you'll be able to use that cute knitted sweater again when the winter comes!

Last but not least, we have the stylish Disgust emotion! Up above you'll find another great summer dress in the style of her outfit that you can wear in the day to day as well as for dressing up kids. Sadly there isn't an equivalent costume for adults, but you can adapt by using a green skater dress like this one.

With the dress ready, it's time to do your makeup, hair and practice your best disgusted faces. For the hair, I recommend picking up the cute green wig on the left; it suits perfectly. As for the make-up, Disgust's look is a little more complicated, so I've included a great make-up tutorial video below for you to check out. It also includes guides to making yourself look stunning as the other emotions, so it's well worth watching in full.

While you can find the officially licensed Cinderella wig here, I much prefer the one featured above - it's only $10 more expensive and has a much more realistic, less cartoony look, which goes better with the more realistic style of the new movie. It can also be washed, unlike most wigs (they usually just fall apart when you do), which gives it much more re-usability. 

Last but not least, makeup! In the movie Cindy has quite a demur style of makeup for the eyes and some stand-out lips, but if you're more of an eye-gal, check out the tutorial above to learn how to create a truly stunning Cinderella-style look for your eyes.
