Whether you are dressing up for Halloween or a Birthday party, or indeed any other event, a fairy costume is a classic look that can be made to suit any occasion. They comes in a crazy number of colors and styles, so there is bound to be one that makes you look absolutely stunning! This post is going to be looking at my personal top ten favorite fairy costumes, so be sure to read on!

If you are big girly-girl and need your fairy costume to look pretty and perfect in pink, then one of these three cute costumes should work wonders for you! Each costume comes with the beautiful dress and the matching fairy wings, as well as some very cute sheer sleeves (the one on the right even comes with some hair clips!). You can get some fun matching accessories for each, such as these adorable rose hair clips for the Rose Fairy costume on the left.

Meanwhile, if blue is your thing, maybe one of the two costumes above or the beautiful long skirted peacock fairy costume below is your perfect costume. The one on the left is my personal favorite, with it's glittery corset and sexy short skirt. Plus, it looks like a short skirted version of the Blue Fairy's dress for Pinocchio, which makes it perfect for a Disney themed costume party.

Another style of fairy costume that I particularly like are costumes that emulate nature, either animals, flowers and even seasons. Take for example the amazing asymmetrical skirted beauty above. The corset lacing, the peacock feather detail on the waist and the lacy sheer sleeves look truly spectacular. You also get a very cute matching peacock hair piece with every set to finish off the look.

If that particular nature themed fairy costume doesn't take your fancy, fear not, because there are plenty more wonderful pieces! For example, take a look at the elegant and refined Leg Avenue Woodland Fairy costume on the right. I really love how the skirt is cut and arranged to look like the petals on a flower. It looks really quite magical.

If you want to give the skirt a bit of lift and color like in the picture, then you'll want to pick up this beautiful purple petticoat.

On the left is a slightly more unusual nature themed fairy costume: an almost tribal nature look based on the Fall season. I especially like the Autumn leaf fringe on the base of the skirt - it looks very unusual and unique. This costume comes with the matching pixie wings.

Last, but not least, if you are looking for a spooky fairy costume for Halloween, then I've got the perfect one for you: the slinky and sexy gothic black fairy costume featured below. The off the shoulder look is very enticing, and I love the petal detail on the hem of the dress and the sheer sleeves. Naturally, you get the sleek silver wings with this costume set.

How to Cosplay as Yuna from Final Fantasy X

I've been crazy about the Final Fantasy series ever since I played Final Fantasy 8 on the PS2 at the age of seven, and I've played all of them since. Definitely in my top ten is the beautiful and character driven game of Final Fantasy X, especially given its wonderful, demure but emotionally powerful protagonist, Yuna. This post goes out to all you Final Fantasy 10 lovers who want to dress up as the summoner! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, go here for Yuna costumes.

First of all, featured at the top of this post if an absolutely stunning replica of Yuna's summoner costume from Final Fantasy 10. The colors and the detail on this costume is absolutely spot on, and the designer can make it to your measurements, so it is sure to fit really well.

I admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Final Fantasy X-2, even if it was a bit of a...radical departure from the tone of the original game. It was fun and bubbly at least, and that really shines through in the new costume Yuna got for that game, which I also love. If you want to dress up as post-Yevon Yuna, check out the amazing costume on the right.

Once you have the costume, you still aren't done! Yuna has a lot of very iconic jewelry that she wears, so it's definitely worth picking up some replicas if you want to be faithful to the source material. Most of them aren't too expensive, which is great.

Now it's time to finish off the look. If you have short brown hair, just wear it with a parting down the middle, and if you don't, be sure to pick up the cute wig on the right. Add some cute accessories and props to the costume if you have a little budget left to spare. A costume based on the first game should include Yuna's Summoner's staff (which you can find here), while a costume based on the sequel could use some cute hand pistols like the amazing replica ones above.

How to Dress up As Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)

Just saw Catching Fire and realized I still don't have a post on this site for cosplaying as Katniss Everdeen! Well, I had to sort that out right away. Its a very easy and iconic look to pull off. If you want Katniss' standard look (the most famous), then just pick up the jacket above and combine it with a black v-neck t-shirt and some black or green cargo pants. Easy as that!

Alternatively, you can go for one of her training outfits. On the right is the Training Days outfits from the original Hunger Games movie.

Costumes for the later movies are also not available only - her bad-ass Mockingjay armour is one of my favourites and you can find an excellent replica on the left. Her jumpsuit from the Hunger Games in Catching Fire is also available right here.

Next up you'll want to style your hair to match. If you have long brown hair I recommend checking out the video tutorial below and doing up your hair yourself as its a very easy look to do at home even if you don't have much experience with hair. If you don't have the right hair color or length, don't worry, there's a wig you can use instead, featured here.

There's a few fun accessories for a Katniss costume that I recommend having too. Don't forget to pick up a bow and a cute mockingjay pin to finish off the look. If you really want to go all out, you can check out this replica sack from the games.

Here's an easy but effective costume for Halloween: the Bride, a.k.a. Beatrice Kiddo from Kill Bill. She's bad-ass, a dab-hand with a sword, and if you happen to be a member of the crazy 88 you should probably run screaming before she removes your limbs.
