Top Five Marie Antoinette Costumes for Halloween

Forum Deluxe Designer Collection Marie Antoinette Costume Dress
Pink Marie Antoinette Costume
With the world coming out a bad recession, sometimes its fun to just make light of the situation with a 'let them eat cake attitude'. Plus, the French Queen who said that had a truly epic fashion sense that brings a lot of luxury into these dark times, so why not dress as Marie Antoinette for Halloween? If that sounds like your cup of tea, then read on and let's take a look at my top five favorite Marie Antoinette costumes. If you are shopping from the UK or EU, you can find amazing Marie Antoinette costumes here. US readers, let's get started!

If you want the classic look she wears in her gorgeous portraits, then take a look at the amazing Forum Deluxe Designer dress above, a beautiful white and pink ball gown with bows and lacy frills to capture the imagination. If you like the lace hand folding fan that the model is using in the picture, you can find it here. It's a great accessory for the costume in my opinion.

If on the other hand, you are more of a sexy mini-dress kind of gal, you can hit the town with the super cute Godessey costume on the right. I love the feminine colors and the very ooh-la-la patterns on the dress, it is really adorable and stylish.

You can get a matching wig for both of these costumes here. If you go for the short skirt costume, I recommend getting a petticoat to keep thte skirt nice and poofy. You can find a perfect one here

Xnaihuafei Women's Marie Antoinette 17-18th Century Rococo Baroque Gown
If you want to go for a period piece that is all-out and true to the time, then take a peek at the simply amazing 18th century style pink and white Baroque gown featured above. It's a very realistic piece that is bound to make anyone look drop-dead gorgeous. If you are going for this costume, I recommend picking up a hoop petticoat like this one so that the skirt keeps that billowing shape!

Masquerade Marie Antoinette Costume for Women
While many costumes like to have Marie Antoinette looking pretty in pink, that isn't all that is available. Many costumes prefer a splash of baby blue, and it looks truly beautiful!

Vixen of VersaillesCostume
Take for example the pretty and puffy Masquerade Marie Antoinette costume above. It's so cute! Each set of this costume comes with the dress and the feather headpiece. You can get the matching wig here. I strongly recommend picking up a petticoat in order to give the skirt some lift: you can find a perfect one here.

For some regal gold combine with your baby pink, take a look at the stunning Vixen of Versailles Marie Antoinette costume on the left. Each set of this costume comes with the light pink dress with gold embroidered corset, ostrich feather hat and a petticoat to provide lift to the skirt.

So there you have it! Those are my top five favorite Marie Antoinette costumes for women this Halloween. For those of you with a theatrical bent, here's a fun theme for you - the tragic figure of Pierrot, the sad clown jilted by his dearest love. Even though many people don't know the story behind Pierrot, everyone recognises his signature black and white look, and that makes him a wonderful costume theme for Halloween and other party occasions. There are a couple of great Pierrot costumes for women and kids out there, so let's take a look.

Girls Deluxe Pierrot Clown Costume
For all the adult pantomime fans out there, there are two Pierrot costumes that I particularly recommend, both very sexy-mini dresses with an eye-catching design. The one above has a beautful asymmetrical skirt which is sure to make you stand out from the crowd. Every set of this costume comes with the dress, oversized bow, the hat, leg warmers, and a lovely choker necklace. Meanwhile the one on the right comes with the dress and gloves: the matching stockings are available separately here.

You can also get a cute Pierrot costume for kids too, so younger pantomime fans need not feel left out! Take a look at the cute stripy clown costume on the left -it's so cute! Each set of this costume includes the puffy shirt, the pants and the adorable little hat.

Last but not least, once you have the costume, you need to do up your face with some distinctive makeup. Below is a great video tutorial that'll teach you how to pull off a very professional and eye-catching look.
