Mermaid are magical aren't they? Lots of little girls dream of shedding the surface world for the deep sea, and Halloween is the perfect time to live out that fantasy. To help out all the burgeoning sea-princesses out there, I've collected my top 10 favorite mermaid costumes for children into one place for you to check out. Most of these costumes are also available in the UK and EU here.

The main style of mermaid costume is a slinky dress with a tail shape at the base. Many of these are in soft sea-themed colors, such as seashell purples and light blues that evoke gentle waves, such as the Let's Pretend mermaid costume on the right. Those net sleeves and the pearl beads coming from the skirt are absolutely gorgeous don't you think?

Another of my favorites is the California Costumes Little Mermaid costume featured at the top of this page. The glittery sequin skirt is very beautiful. Each set comes with the dress and the seashell headpiece.

For girls who love to look pretty in pink, the mermaid costumes need not disappoint! There are load of pink colored mermaid costumes out there to please any girly-girl, such as In Character's mermaid costume featured above. I love how shimmery the tail is, and the contrast of baby blue and bubblegum pink works really well. This would look great paired with a seaweed themed feather boa like this one.

Another style of mermaid costume is not to have a mermaid tail at the base of it but instead allude to it with a mermaid shaped dress skirt at the bottom. My personal favorite of these is the green costume above - the shape is unusual and unique and the color is very bold and pretty. I think any little girl would love it!

Another cute one is the sheer fabric-tailed skirt and interestingly patterned dress on the right. The colors are very dainty, and the little flower brooch on the front of the dress is very pretty. 

For all the little ladies out there who want a more mature look to their costumes, take a look at the bubbly purple and green mermaid costume on the left. It's a ball gown style dress inspired by the Little Mermaid's Princess Ariel. It looks amazing!

Mary Poppins is a big part of many people's childhood, and makes a fun and nostalgic costume for Halloween. The look is very easy to pull off too. All you need to start off is the English Nanny costume featured above. This costume is available in child's sizes here. First up, we have two cute red and black numbers featured above and on the right. Both feature subtly torn and bloody cheerleader dresses and come with the matching pom-poms you see in the picture. I recommend picking up some athletic knee-high socks like these to finish off the look in both cases. You can splatter a few sprays of fake blood on them too if you like. Either way, you are sure to look fabulous whichever look you choose.

For a lighter look, I highly recommend the Forum zombie cheerleader costume featured above. It has more of a gothic look than most other zombie cheerleader costume, emphasising the 'Zombie' end of things. 

Feeling morbid? So is the zombie cheerleader on the left, even though she's got a great outfit on her. It doesn't come with the pom-poms, but you can get a good set here in a variety of different colors quite cheaply.

Last but not least, on the right is a teen exclusive! I love the color-scheme on this costume, it's very simple and yet very bold and is sure to make your teen stand out a mile away. Each set comes with the cute mini-dress and a matching pom-pom.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a hit among people of all ages, and it's easy to see why - colorful characters, cute but simple story-lines with good morals, and an imaginative set of toys to go with it. I bet there are loads of kids who'll be dressing up as ponies for Halloween this year! To help those of you shopping for a pony fan out, I've collected all of my favorite My Little Pony character costumes into one place for you to check out. Let's get started! First of all, we have my personal favorite of the ponies, the incredibly colorful Rainbow Dash! She's hardworking, loyal, and has the best design in my opinion. I'm a sucker for rainbows!

You can actually find two Rainbow Dash costume styles out there. Above there is a tutu-dress version, perfect for fancy dress birthday parties where there will be lots of running around and dancing! Each set comes with the dress, a detachable tail, as well as the ribbon bow headband. Pretty cute!

Meanwhile, on the right we have a more realistic style of pony cosplay in the style of the character itself. It comes with the Rainbow Dash jumpsuit, a detachable tail, and the pony face headpiece. That's everything she needs for the perfect Rainbow Dash look.

Next up we have the pony who is everybody's friend, the funny and adorable Pinkie Pie! Above is a great Pinkie Pie costume to get you started, a lovely, silky pink dress with a detachable tail. Alternatively, if you like the more dressy style of costume, there are not one, but two wonderful Pinkie Pie dresses to choose from! The one on the left comes with a detachable tail and the matching pink bow head piece, while the one on the right has a set of leggings in addition to this. For some reason you have to buy all of the pieces of the Twilight Sparkle costume separately, which is a pain but doable. Halloween is fast approaching, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is as strong as ever. I bet loads of kids are going to be wanting to dress up as their favorite superheroes to go trick-or-treating, but it can be difficult to find decent comic book superhero costumes for girls. That's why I've made this post, to give you a handy guide to all the cute Avengers costumes out there for young girls.

First of all, we have the brave and the bold, patriotic super hero that is Captain America! There is actually a lot of choice when it comes to this hero, so I thought I would just include two of my personal favorites for you to take a look at. Up above we have a lovely piece from Rubies, a bright and shiny blue Captain America dress with a hood in case it rains.

Second, on the right is a lovely costume with a bit of a darker color scheme. Every set comes with the adorable sparkling tutu dress, the winged Captain America eye mask, and a pair of matching red gauntlets.

Regardless of which costume you choose in the end, be sure to finish off the look with a bold Captain America shield. 

Avengers Black Widow Classic Costume

Here's my favorite of the Avengers - the kick-ass former assassin Black Widow. Featured above is an amazing Black Widow costume that any fan is sure to look incredible in and have a lot of fun with! He's one of the most popular of the Avengers, despite finding a way to nearly cause the apocalypse every movie, he's Iron Man! Above are two beautiful Iron Man costumes, one for younger girls and another for tweens. Both come with the matching masks too, to complete the look.

Here's a costume that has only become available recently - my attempts to find Thor costumes for girls in the past has never ended in success. It was well worth the wait though, the costume above is very true to the character's look and looks pretty sweet. It comes with both the dress and the headpiece - all you need to finish it off is a hammer!

Sadly there are no more feminine Hulk costumes out there at the moment, but if she's a tomboy I recomment picking up the costume above! It comes with the muscle chest jumpsuit with attached boot tops and the Hulk mask. To finish off the look, why not pick up some hulkish green hand gloves!

Last but not least, on the right we have Hawkeye! Each version of the costume comes with the sleek black jacket with attached shirt-front and pants with attached boot tops. You can get a child's replica of his awesome bow right here.

Frozen remains my favorite Disney movie of all time, and it seems the hundred of little girls I've seen around the country dressing up as the characters to see the movie, shop at the Disney store, or even just go out for lunch, agree with me. I love seeing mini-Anna's and Elsa's running around (even if the only line of the movie is 'Let it Gooo' on loop), so I've decided to make a post on my personal favorite Anna and Elsa costumes that I've seen. First up, starting with the Snow Queen herself, we have the beautiful Pettigirl costume set features above, with a wonderful sequinned bodice and silky skirt. It is super affordable, and it comes with a tonne of stuff too. With every set you get the stunning blue dress, the white sparkling cape, a glittery tiara as well as a matching necklace and bracelet jewellery set. She can wear those on the day-to-day as well, which is pretty neat.

Secondly, on the right is the officially licensed Elsa costume from the Disney Store! It features a stunning shiny blue dress with a glittery organza overlay with snowflakes on it. It's super cute, and she is sure to love it! There's lots of accessories you can match with it too - if your little girl wants a cape, here's a lovely Frozen inspired cape, and a matching tiara is available here.

While it's definitely the outfit everyone remembers, Elsa's blue dress isn't her only outfit from the movie. My favorite is actually the dark, velvety number she wears for her coronation - it's incredibly beautiful. Next up, we have the plucky and determined Princess Anna! She has some super cute outfits to choose from, starting with her main dress that she wears to go trekking up the mountain in search of Elsa. Above is the full outfit, with a long-sleeved, flower embroidered dress with fur lined pink cape to go with it. If you choose this costume for Halloween, be sure to also pick up this adorable Princess Anna wig with matching snow-cap to complete the look!

If your little Princess wants the outfit without the cape, you can find a lovely replica of Anna's main gown on the right, complete with a purple slip to give the skirt some lovely volume. This is the officially licensed Disney Store dress, so you are guaranteed good quality from it. Why not buy this cool pink Princess Anna tiara to go with the costume? You can even get a matching jewellery set to go with it, if you especially want a treat.

Any little girl is sure to look amazing in this wonderful costume, so I highly recommend it!
