How to DIY Dress as Misty from Pokemon

Misty Cosplay Wig
FPT Womens Basic Crop Tank Top
Decent Misty costumes are actually quite hard to come by, as I learned when I was trying to make a costume for my very first anime convention back in my teens. I wouldn't ever order something pre-made, as they tend to be cheap knock-offs by companies that mysteriously disappear two week later, and I've never seen any with good reviews. Luckily, this is a super easy costume to make from ordinary clothing, many of which you may have lying about the house. This is how to do it!

Red Solid Suspenders
First up, Misty rocks a cool yellow tank top with a cropped bottom, pretty much exactly like the one on the right. It's fine to substitute this with a yellow t-shirt if it's cold out, the look is still very recognizable. Just combine your choice with a set of red suspenders like the one on the left.

I'll be really surprised if any of you didn't already have a set of high waisted denim shorts at home, so if you do that's half of the costume sitting about in your closet already! If not though, this is a great set to use. Attach the suspenders to the shorts and voila, that is the basic costume completed.

Finally, just finish off the look with your basic accessories. If you already have red hair, just give yourself a messy side ponytail, while everyone else would benefit from the awesome wig at the top of the page. Misty also wears Vans-style red and white shoes, and I've featured a very similar pair below. Why not finish off the look with a replica pokeball?

Vans Unisex Sk8-Hi (Canvas) Skate Shoe
So there you have it! That is my guide to making your very own cosplay of Misty from the Pokemon series. I hope you found everything that you need and become the very best. Perhaps even the best there ever was. If you enjoyed this post and would like to see more, be sure to check out the rest of my blog for all of the best costume and cosplay ideas on the net!

Mtxc Women's Final Fantasy VIII Cosplay Costume Rinoa Heartilly
Here's another costume recommendation in my series on classic Final Fantasy character: this time we have the determined and romantic Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII! This is the first game I ever played (in one 48 hour sitting refusing to come out of my uncle's gaming room) so this one's special to me, and I've found a great costume for it. Check it out above! If you don't have long black hair, here is the perfect wig to pair with it. Enjoy!

How to Dress as Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

Roma Costume Women's 5 piece Treasure Huntress
TheMogan Women's Spaghetti
Strap Tank Top Crop Cami Bra
Tomb Raider was one of the first video games I ever played, so I make this post with a lot of fond nostalgia! I have to say I was a little disappointed by the lack of Lara Croft costumes out there, though I did find the lovely Roma Costumes Treasure Huntress costume above, which is an awesome and very sexy look. Each set of this costume comes with the top, shorts, backpack, holsters and grenades.

Fret not over the initial lack of variety though! If you want to make your own costume from scratch, that is pretty easy too, and let's you make the costume according to your budget. Just pair the crop top on the right with these brown mini shorts, plus the optional accessories of some leg holsters and shoulder holsters, black fingerless gloves and some kick-ass combat boots.

Deluxe Long Brown Plaited Pony Tail Lara Croft Tomb Raider Style Wig
Last but not least, you'll need to do up your hair to complete the look. If you have long brown hair, you're set, just style it into a long plat with a few bangs loose at the front, and you will have the perfect look. If not, then you can pick up the cute Lara Croft wig above. Have a lot of fun dressing up, and have a happy Halloween!

There are some cool costumes out there too - these are my two favorites.

Above is the Zelda costumes, which comes with the dress, the purple jacket dress, the waist ornament, shoulder decorations and the beautiful necklace. Meanwhile the Link costume, featured on the right, comes with the tunic, green elf hat, the belt, arm guards, and the thigh high boot tops.

Top Assassin's Creed Costumes for Women

Leg Avenue Assassin's Creed 6 Piece Connor
Leg Avenue Women's Assassin's Creed 4 Piece Ezio

Video game costumes for women are a little in short supply - especially for modern games it takes so long for female versions of male costumes to come out! That is why it's taken me so long to make this post given how much I love Assassin's Creed, but at last we have not one, but two costumes based on the amazing video game series, with the original assassin Ezio on the left, and his American counterpart from the third game, Connor Davenport. Check them out - they both come with a huge amount of accessories and there are loads of extra weapons and the like to be bought separately. Have fun!

How to Dress as a Little Sister (Bioshock)

I'm a huge fan of the Bioshock games, for their amazing stories, fantastic gameplay and iconic visuals. I especially love the adorable Little Sisters (I've never been able to play as an evil character, they are just too cute!). They have a very recognizable look that would make a great costume for both conventions and Halloween, so that is why I made this post. Let's take a look at how to dress up as the Little Sisters!

BioShock Little Sister Dark
Blue Stripe Cosplay Costume
First of all, you'll need the cute blue stripy dress that the Sisters wear, and as look would have it you can find a perfect replica of it on the right. It even comes with a pretty white hair bow to do your hair up with.

Now that you have the costume, you'll need to do up your make-up to look gaunt and spooky just like the ADAM guzzling cuties themselves. At the bottom of this post is a fantastic tutorial on how to get the Little Sister look, so follow that and you'll look great!

Beyond the makeup, you'll need to give your eyes that creepy, ADAM overdose yellow glow. You can achive this with what is know as full-eye or 'sclera' contact lenses - there's a great yellow pair on the left that will work perfectly for this look.

Yellow Sclera Contact Lenses
Last but not least, you'll need the Little Sister's iconic ADAM syringe to go searching for fallen angels with. Sadly no one is selling this prop on the net, but it's not actually that tough to make for yourself. Here's a fantastic guide to making you own Little Sister syringe with bits and bobs from your garage.

So there you have it! That is my guide to dressing as the Little Sisters from Bioshock 1 and 2. I hope you have a ton of fun dressing up! If you enjoyed this post and want to see more, be sure to check out the rest of my blog for loads more great costume ideas for women for all occasions. See you around!

If you prefer the jumpsuit look, you can find a Mario women's jumpsuit here, and a Luigi jumpsuit here.

To honor this mystery mother of the year, above is a shiny and beautiful Yoshi costume dress for your to check out. Each set comes with the sexy dress with inflatable shell back, and a cuddly hat and scarf combo headpiece.

Princess Peach is not the only Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom (even if that begs the question of who is charge of this bizarre pipe planet anyway). We also have the beautiful Princess Daisy! Above is a lovely Princess Daisy costume for those of you who prefer the bold orange clad royal to her pink counterpart. It's perfect for partnering with Luigi!

'Video Game Princess' Costume Sexy Video Game Costume
Disguise Women's Toad Female Costume
While Princess Daisy female versions of the male Super Mario characters can be hard to find at times, the same cannot be said of the stunning Princess Peach. There are plenty of amazing Peach outfits available on the net, and my personal favorite is the one featured above, which comes with the puffy skirt and matching crown headband. You can find loads more beautiful Princess Peach costumes here.

Last but not least, every Princess needs her loyal foot-servant, and every plumber needs someone to tell him that his Princess is in another castle. It's Toad! Check out the super cute Toad costume on the right, which comes with the elegant and pretty mini-dress and mushroom hat.

World Traveler Costume

Above is a fantastic replica Carmen Sandiego costume that comes with the iconic hat and red trench coat (though many customer recommend replacing it with this hat, as it is sturdier). How to Cosplay as Yuna from Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X Cosplay Costume Yuna Summon Set
I've been crazy about the Final Fantasy series ever since I played Final Fantasy 8 on the PS2 at the age of seven, and I've played all of them since. Definitely in my top ten is the beautiful and character driven game of Final Fantasy X, especially given its wonderful, demure but emotionally powerful protagonist, Yuna. This post goes out to all you Final Fantasy 10 lovers who want to dress up as the summoner! If you are shopping from the UK or EU, go here for Yuna costumes.

Cosplay Final Fantasy X-2
Yuna Halloween Costume
First of all, featured at the top of this post if an absolutely stunning replica of Yuna's summoner costume from Final Fantasy 10. The colors and the detail on this costume is absolutely spot on, and the designer can make it to your measurements, so it is sure to fit really well.

I admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Final Fantasy X-2, even if it was a bit of a...radical departure from the tone of the original game. It was fun and bubbly at least, and that really shines through in the new costume Yuna got for that game, which I also love. If you want to dress up as post-Yevon Yuna, check out the amazing costume on the right.

Final Fantasy X Blue Stone Necklace
Once you have the costume, you still aren't done! Yuna has a lot of very iconic jewelry that she wears, so it's definitely worth picking up some replicas if you want to be faithful to the source material. Most of them aren't too expensive, which is great.

A replica if Yuna's bell necklace from the first game can be found here, her beautiful lotus flower ring can be bought here, and her pearl bracelet can be picked up here. Her earring can be found here.

If you want to treat yourself to a really special piece, why not take a look at the amazing replica of the blue crystal necklace that Tidus gifted Yuna in Final Fantasy 10? It's featured on the left.

FINAL FANTASY X Cosplay Props Yuna Yuna 2th double guns
Now it's time to finish off the look. If you have short brown hair, just wear it with a parting down the middle, and if you don't, be sure to pick up the cute wig on the right. Add some cute accessories and props to the costume if you have a little budget left to spare. A costume based on the first game should include Yuna's Summoner's staff (which you can find here), while a costume based on the sequel could use some cute hand pistols like the amazing replica ones above.

Japan Final Fantasy Yuna Cosplay Wig
So there you have it! My guide to creating the perfect Yuna costume. It's as easy peasy as that! I hope you found some ideas that are perfect for you and have a great time cosplaying as your favorite Final Fantasy character. If you liked this post and want to see more great cosplay ideas, you should check out the rest of my blog for even more wonderful costumes for women in all sorts of styles. I'm sure you'll find some good ones!

In particular, if you are really into Final Fantasy, I've made a number of other guides for cosplaying as various characters across the series, which you can find here. Have fun!

Group Cosplay Ideas: The Women of the Ace Attorney Universe (Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney)

So, I just finished playing Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, and it was amaaaazing! Seriously, if you haven't played it yet, load up the Nintendo 3DS store and buy it right away. Anyway, that was the inspiration for this post, a guide to dressing up as the women of the Ace Attorney universe: Trucy Wright, Ema and Lana Skye, Maya Fey, Franziska von Karma, Iris and Dahlia Hawthorne, and Athena Cykes. Each of these costume ideas is great for fancy dress and conventions generally, but its always fun to get your friends together and go as the whole team.

Maya Fey Costume

Maya Fey Costume
Every Ace Attorney fan is familiar with Maya Fey, Wright's spunky genki girl side kick and spirit-medium extraordinaire. She's a tonne of fun to cosplay as, and I've found a costume above that I particularly like. You can also get a version with more shiny, silky material here. I've also found some similar shoes to Maya's sandals to match it here. I've yet to find anywhere than consistently stocks her Magatama necklace, but I recommend searching on eBay as there is always somebody selling various replicas and Magatama jewellery there.

Maya's hair is quite difficult to pull off, so here's what I recommend doing. Buy a very long haired black wig like this one, and tie a small topknot in it to match the one on the top of Maya's head. Tie a purple ribbon around the base. Next up, create the large bead in her hair by painting some Styrofoam balls or large ping pong balls purple, and make holes large enough to thread a section of hair at the front through. They should stay up on their own, if not, use a small bobble or a bobby pin the same color as your hair to keep them in place.

Emma Skye Costume

Costume Phoenix Wright
Ace Attorney Ema Skye
It's time to do some scientific investigating! Forensics to be precise, with the wonderful Ema Skye. She's Lana's sister and the sidekick of the final case of the first game, as well as a recurring character throughout the series when she later becomes a detective.

Lets start off with her outfit. On the left is a very cute Ema Skye replica costume that is perfect for conventions and parties which comes with everything you see in the picture.

Next up, you'll need some accessories to finish of the look. An easy way to get her look hair-wise is using this cute Ema Skye wig, and you can pick up glasses that look very similar to hers here.

Franziska von Karma Costume
Franziska von Karma Costume
Franziska von Karma is one of my favorite characters in the whole game, and her's is definitely my favorite outfit. Check out the gorgeous costume above, in all its amazing excessively large ascot glory; perfect for a Franziska cosplay. The same website also makes sweet replicas of Franziska's boots here that you can pick up. Also, here's a fake whip. You already know why. As for her hair, Franziska has a short crop of silver-gray hair, and I think this wig looks quite close and would compliment the costume nicely.

Trucy Wright Costume

Trucy Wright Costume
Woo! Trucy! Trucy is so unbelievably adorable, and is a perfect cosplay idea for younger and older fans of the games alike. Plus, magicians are really cool. I won't hear anything different. Trucy is Phoenix Wright's daughter, and she debuted in Turnabout Trump, the first episode of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. Her outfit is as colorful as her character too.

This costume on the right is just perfect for any budding Trucy cosplayer. You get everything you see here in the picture, including the cape, ascot, cute little strapless dress and the bag, which is everything you need! If you don't naturally have short brown hair, fret not, because you can find a cute Trucy Wright wig here to finish of the look.

Athena Cykes Costume

Athena Cykes Costume
Athena Cykes is the latest addition to the Ace Attorney roster, a bright and enthusiastic new lawyer who is both a sidekick and a protagonist in her own right depending on the case. She rounds of the list of primary colors when it comes to our defense attorneys - Phoenix is blue, Apollo is red, and she is a summery shade of yellow. Above is a costume made to look just like hers, so check it out!

Her hair is going to be incredibly hard to replicate, unless you have the good fortune of being a red-headed anime character with crazy hair yourself. Nevertheless, you can always get that look with an equally crazy wig. Check it out here.

Iris Hawthorne Costume

Iris Spirit Medium Costume
Iris Hawthorne is a figure from Phoenix Wright's distant past, a quiet and demure young girl living in the shadow of her psychopathic twin sister Dahlia. As a member of a Fey branch family, she is also a spirit medium (albeit not a strong one), and her most famous costume is a variation on the Fey medium costume. There's a cute costume based on it which you can check out on the left.

Iris' hair is also simple to style yourself if you have long hair - just tie two french braids on either side of your head. If you don't have long hair or not the right color, pick up an appropriate wig and style it in the same way.

Dahlia Hawthorne Costume
Dahlia Hawthorne Costume
Dahlia is one of my favorite villains from the series; she's just so unrepentant and evil! Part of her charm is how beautiful and gentle she looks until you set her off, and the outfit above captures that perfectly. To style the hair, do exactly what I advised for Iris' hair, except use a red haired wig rather than a black one.

So there you have it, all my favorite women from the Ace Attorney series, hero and villain. I hope you have a lot of fun cosplaying as these characters with all your friends. If you enjoyed this post and want to see more, be sure to check out the rest of this blog for even more cosplay ideas and costumes for all occasions. Remember to practice your chords of steel!

How to Cosplay as Oerba Yun Fang

Final Fantasy XIII is one of the most visually stunning video games I've ever played, which makes it an excellent muse for character cosplay. Oerba Yun Fang is one of my favorite characters from the game; she's good looking, bad ass and she has a really awesome outfit. If you are looking to cosplay as Fang for a convention of Final Fantasy themed party, look no further. Unless you are shopping from the UK or EU, in which case you need to click here.

Final Fantasy XIII Cosplay
Oerba Yun Fang Outfit
First of all, you'll need Fang's iconic blue sash outfit, and I've found a beautiful and faithful replica on the right. It comes with everything you see in the photo, but sadly doesn't include any boots. Fret not though, as you can pick up replicas of those here. They're pretty cute!

A must have accessory for any Fang costume is her cool arm tattoo that you can see in the picture above. EileenGalvin has made a stencil design of the tattoo that you can use. Here's a guide on how to use the design on a piece of paper to create your own realistic looking temporary tattoo. Be sure to have some rubbing alcohol on hand in case you don't get it right first time.

Oerba Yun Fang
Cosplay Wig
Once that is done, you'll need to style your hair like Fang's. Her hair has quite a unique and distinct haircut, which can be hard to replicate even if you already have long black hair, but I've found a wig that pretty closely resembles it which I've featured on the left.

So there you go, a cute Fang costume for your convention or party. I hope you have a tonne of fun dressing up! If you liked this post be sure to check out the rest of this blog for even more fun cosplay and costume ideas for women. In particular, I've done a number of guides on how to cosplay as various characters from FFXIII and it's sequel, including Lightning, Serah and Vanille, so if you are looking for a fun group costume theme, check them out! Pairing up with a friend dressed as Vanille is especially fun.
